Preparing for Kindergarten
According to the 2015 Kindergarten Readiness report, only fifty-percent of Kentucky’s children are Kindergarten ready. The number is a bit higher for Oldham County children, at 66%. Children who participated in the study were tested in five areas: Academic/Cognitive, Language Development, Physical Development, Self-Help, and Social-Emotional Development.
The below chart compares Oldham County students to students across the state of Kentucky.
The Kentucky Department of Educations found that children enrolled in child care are far more likely to be ready to enter Kindergarten.
